Patrick Mahomes is great. He’s a likely Hall of Fame quarterback. I understand what he means to the Chiefs , who right now are the NFL’s biggest draw on television or whatever platform you choose to consume pro football on. I also understand the role of the QB in the league. They are the leading men, the stars of the show and no one tunes in to see Chiefs current caddy Carson Wentz over Patrick Mahomes.
With that established NFL, stop it. Stop allowing Mahomes to prance, dance, slide and flop to advantages he doesn’t need or hasn’t earned. Protect the quarterback, I get it. Mahomes is just toying with defenders now and the zebras seem all too eager to play along. Whether the Houston Texans were good enough in the divisional round to still beat the Chiefs on the road is debatable, they had their chances. It didn’t help to have to play the officials too on a couple key calls and almost a third. It’s the same flops the NBA finally did away with. Stars get calls, but the acting should be better. For years fans have screamed about Kansas City getting the calls and I never thought much of it. Against Houston though it was silly.
The Chiefs move on to face the Bills for their right to move on to New Orleans in hopes of a three-peat. Mahomes doesn’t need any additional help.
