I didn’t want to do it.
After having the audacity to suggest on Monday the Chiefs themselves may be a bigger reason for their own success than NFL officials or conspiracy theories, I was forced to defend myself on The John Lund Unleashed Show on Tuesday morning.
Below is just one of many social media responses I received. How dare I suggest the NFL isn’t in Head Coach Andy Reid’s pocket. That the league wouldn’t want a mid-market like Kansas City as it’s major dynasty hub at the expense of the larger markets in New York, Los Angles or Chicago. “Are we watch the same game” 404_pumpkinpatch demanded. I can only assume he or she meant are we watching the same game?
So I took patch’s advice. I did watch the same game…Again. What did I find? It wasn’t the officials. It wasn’t a conspiracy. The Chiefs made more plays and in clutch moments. The Bills players and coaches did not. The Chiefs were better, right now in those moments they always are. I didn’t speculate, I didn’t guess. The camera doesn’t lie. Take a look for yourself.
